Indented Text

Make this very easy indented text to make it look like a piece of the text has been cut out to make room for the other text. Very easy to learn!

Indented Text
Make this very fancy, and simple, Indented Text!
-
Step 1 In a new document, make 2 text-files with 2 different kind of words. One smaller then the other.

-
Step 2 Place the small text on the larger one;

-
Step 3 Select the small text;

-
Step 4 Go to Edit>Modify>Expand and choose a decent amount;

-
Step 5 Rasterise the larger text and then press delete with the selection on;

-
Step 6 Then hide the smaller text for a moment and erase the dots and dirt that wasn't removed in step 5;

-
Step 7 Then add some nice colors to it and play around with the text and words! :)

Nice, but this is a long winded messy way of just applying a white stroke to the smaller text. Im surprised you did this.

@ Will, that would only work if the background is just a single colour, and that would also not get rid of "the junk" that may occur between the letters.

Why dont you just add a 4 pixel white border to the text. Would it give it the same effect?

Thanks for making your instructions clear and for NOT assuming that everyone coming to your site is a Photoshop pro. It's amazing how many tutorial sites there are that skip the necessary steps by making the faulty assumption that the reader "already knows". And we know why "ass" is at the beginning of assumption - don't we? >;-)
Ignore the people who whine about your method. What you do is greatly appreciated and, if they think they can do it better, why aren't they? Cheers! :-)
