Not much has changed has it?

When you're an artist with a website such as mine, there tend to always be something wrong with it, so it seems.
I don't have a huge team behind me like other sites nor do I have the amount of sponsors some sites have.

I, though, am lucky to be sponsored by Flexihostings. And even though that was tricky advertising, I do am thankfull I have that.

Because these days, it's just not that simple anymore to run a site that's getting bigger and bigger. I mean look at how long I took to "launch" v10. It's a shame. We're almost a year later and it's still not done.
But I guess it's true what I said before. Real companies and artists never really update their websites because they're simply just too busy. And it's true. A lot of my friends, who are skilled artists or have quite impressive companies, all do outstanding work, yet, because of that work, don't always have the time to spend as much time on the website as on the work itself.
Pretty logical right? Not when you realise that a website is sometimes your online business-card and that when it comes down to online rep, some people are dead-serious.

I for one was found online by my current employer, MediaMonks, from who I'm gonna upload some awesome work in the next few days.

So yeah it's important!

But like the programmer of my CMS told me, and the other programmers before me; Perhaps you need to learn php..."
Yeah... I know bagel[1] people who can design well AND code well. I just don't know them. And I don't have any time for it as well. But I'm not gonna defend myself here, because that's not the point. The point is that when you have to do certain things, you cannot do by yourself, you're always gonna have to trust others. And that sometimes may not always work out like you planned, but it's either that or nothing, because nothing in life worth having comes easy. And sometimes those things don't come at all.

So yeah, that's why I'm bummed out about not being able to update my website. I can either wait or get a php-guy to fix it for me one last time so I can fix it untill eternity with my descent xhtml and css knowledge.

Anyhow, my graduation project is about to begin and I'm really excited. I'm going to research if we, as gamedesigners, can learn things from theatre regarding character-animations. For that I will make 2 animations, one with the knowledge knowing already and gained from research within the game-industry. The other with that same knowledge combined with the knowledge gained from the theatre-research.
I will then project these animations to a group of people and see which one they like better and tell them why one is better than the other based on my findings.

Pretty cool if you ask me. I'm still thinking about either using standard animation-models or making my own. Those animation-models are Pixar-detailed, and besides the fact that that makes it harder, it's also less realistic, because games don't have that many polygons in characters.
So I might just make 2 characters. Or one.. I don't know yet.
Would be cool though :)

More on that later.

I'm also gonna try and find out how to fix this mess called MickM.com :(
