This weekend was hectic. Fun, but a lot. And to resume it, it was a great experience and made some new friends, but I did miss my weekend a little. Last week I was invited by the project manager of the Dutch Game Garden to participate in the Gamejam this weekend which was basically a weekend full of quick brainstorming and concepting in the form of a contest. "Frick on a stick!" As Elliot Reid from Scrubs would say. I've seriously had it with the public transportation in my country. The government wants people to use the public transportation more, but don't seem to realise that in order to make something appealing, it has to BE appealing and better than the method you're trying to convert them from. No awfull word about the trans because apart from the fact that they can be late and often bump into each other or derail and hit each other, they're reasonably ok. The trams are a different story. This week was slightly awfull due to the fact that that relative died last tuesday. In a way, it is for the best. That is what her family said. And that's true. She had been battling many things throughout her life and the last months were terrible. For me it was the first time someone close around me died. It was also the first time I saw a person dead in a coffin. While others described her to be nothing more than a body without a soul, somehow I felt different. I hate it that when you get older, birthdays start to get less awesome than they were. No need for that to happen if you ask me. If it's not getting cooler by itself, then you should help it. This time, my birthday wasn't what it was when I was young, but it was so much more awesome. Where, last year, I got only 2 cards and a few phonecalls, this year people I haven't even spoken to in a few years congratulated me. How cool is that? Aaah, I justed finished watching the two most awesome documentaries. A co-worker told me I had to watch two docu's about a man, Justin Lee Collins, who tried to reunite the A-Team and the Star Wars-cast. Knowing that, as well as he does, I love those things, he knew I'd like it. And I did. I had no idea where to buy or rent them, so I watched them on Youtube, which I'm gonna give you the link of.
